Scoop School

The Sustainable Cooperative works with a range of schools and community groups to nurture an appreciation for responsible farming and sustainable living.

The Sustainable Cooperative are excited to launch an education programme for local schools in our new community kitchen. We aim to engage and inspire young people to better understand the food they eat and take the lead in protecting the environment.

We dedicate a day each week to SCOOP SCHOOL. Over the course of the year we explore the notion of conservation cooking and the impact our food has on the environment around us, while teaching children how to create tasty healthy food in a safe and certified environment. Workshops take place as part of "Re-wild my plate", a collaboration between The Sustainable Cooperative and local arts organisation The morning boat.

SCOOP SCHOOL will provide opportunities for children to engage with some of the islands most exciting and forward thinking growers, farmers, chefs and environmentalists. Workshops are led by team members with a wealth of experience working in educational contexts. If you would like to discuss this programme in more detail, please get in touch!
